Academic Accomodation for Students

If a student has a formal accommodation with Humber’s Accessible Learning Services (ALS), you will receive a letter from that department (via email) with the specific accommodation listed.

You may have requests from students for accommodations that do not have formal accommodations from ALS - you CAN accommodate those requests, when reasonable & manageable.

We have a duty to accommodate.

Using Universal Design for Learning (UDL), many accommodations can be naturally met at the outset in the course design. Check out the UDL Guidelines for ideas.

Note: If you have a student who requires support and you are unsure of how to help, contact Student Services, your program coordinator, or your associate dean. Handle conversations about students and their situations in confidence out of respect for privacy.
