Hi! My name is Eve Mills. Growing up, I always enjoyed creating things, whether big or small. I loved disassembling objects to understand how they functioned and then attempting to reassemble them. This curiosity sparked my early interest in design, although I didn't realize it at the time. Now, as I pursue a career in industrial design, my goal is to develop products that enhance the lives of others and potentially ignite the same spark that started in me.

The four essential pillars encompass human-centric design approach and the understanding of full-bodied, three dimensional physical interaction of user, product and environment. The projects generate innovative solutions using research-driven, evidence-based designs which focus on the user experience.

Ergonomics & Human Factors Design

All drawers in MechXPress fully extend, offering complete access to tools without requiring users to lean over.

The unit is adjustable in height, ensuring a customized and comfortable working experience. Additionally, its portable hydraulics can raise a vehicle up to 70 inches off the ground, facilitating greater access to the car without the need for uncomfortable positions.

Sustainability & Social Responsibility

Constructed primarily of steel, MechXPress boasts high recyclability. Steel, being infinitely recyclable without any loss of quality, highlights the sustainability of MechXPress.

Additionally, MechXPress is designed to be weather-resistant, with its powder coating aiding in this durability. The powder coating can be removed, and the metal recycled with no adverse effects. Designed for longevity, MechXPress ensures that once a station is in use, it will continue to serve for years to come.

Mobile Auto Mechanics

Project Summary

Current mobile mechanic setups typically involve makeshift arrangements operated out of the back of a van. However, these solutions often lack the capacity to handle larger jobs efficiently and lack proper workflow organization. With the mobile mechanics industry experiencing significant growth because of people's time constraints and budget, there's an urgent need for more effective solutions. The current setups fail to support sustainable and efficient business practices. Mobile auto mechanics frequently find themselves spending excessive time organizing and repairing supplies that have been strewn around, detracting from valuable time that could be spent at job sites. The demand for this service is evident from customers, but it's now crucial to equip mechanics with the right tools to further propel the industry's growth.
