Improve Mobility For Elderly At Home Care Facilities

Project Summary

With the increasing number of elderly attending home care facilities, it is estimated that the trend will continue to increase. Currently, home care facilities are understaffed as personal support workers (PSWs) have heavy workloads that can affect their physical health. This results in the lack of care that elderly patients receive during their daily routines due to the facilities' strict schedules to get to all of the patients. Although there is equipment to help lessen the workload, there are limited amounts, and they still require the assistance of personal support workers or others to operate them. As these issues continue to develop, the risks of injuries will increase as time goes on. Safe-B provides a way to mitigate these problems by allowing the user to increase their safety, accessibility, and independence.
