Elizabeth J. Duncan is the multiple award-winning author of two traditional mystery series: Penny Brannigan, set in North Wales and Shakespeare in the Catskills, set in upstate New York.
Elizabeth’s first novel, The Cold Light of Mourning, won the William F. Deeck-Malice Domestic 2006 Grant for Unpublished Writers and the 2008 St. Martin’s/Malice Domestic Award for best first traditional mystery and was nominated for an Arthur Ellis award in Canada and an Agatha Award in the United States. She has been nominated seven times for a Bloody Words (Bony Blithe) award for Canada’s best light mystery, with two wins: A Small Hill to Die On (2013) and Murder on the Hour (2017).
On Deadly Tides, the eleventh book in the Penny Brannigan series, was published in 2020.
A former journalist and public relations practitioner, Elizabeth now divides her time almost equally between Toronto, Canada, and Llandudno, North Wales.
