Web Design and Development
Program Overview
If you describe yourself as creative, resourceful, detail-oriented and a problem solver, then Humber's Web Design and Development certificate program is for you. You will learn to critically analyze problems and apply best practices to plan, design and build websites/applications. You will build sites and apps from the ground up using the most up-to-date techniques and fundamental technologies. You will also learn to tackle technical challenges by developing strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills. The solutions you create along your journey will be curated into a captivating portfolio website at the end of the program.
Our unique project-based approach leads students in the program through the entire process of creating websites and web applications. You will build static and dynamic websites utilizing the most current versions of industry-standard applications and tools. Programming and design skills are taught with a focus on following best practices and established industry standards including designing websites that are mobile-ready, accessible and future-proof.
You will be constantly challenged to learn more through the escalating curriculum. You will be guided by experienced faculty and industry professionals who are passionate about the web and related media in a practical, hands-on style of teaching. Opportunities to network with potential employers, alumni and other professionals will help you to build your own network of invaluable contacts to shape your future career.

Expert Faculty
Cory Coletta
Cory Coletta is a dedicated web and marketing consultant and educator, coupling a decade of experience in higher education with 15 years of web design and marketing consultancy. Having worked as an in-house web designer for many years, servicing both the public and private sector, whilst freelancing and managing a sole proprietorship business. Previous to teaching and still today, Cory works in student affairs and services, supports the student experience outside of the classroom. This diverse experience lends itself to Cory’s teaching style, which is a hands-on, facilitator approach to student learning.
Milorad Eftoski
Milorad Eftoski is a self-made entrepreneur with a mix of energy, creativity and a passion for excellence.
Over 15 years of his career have been spent teaching and focusing on the latest trends in creative design.
Along the way, he has worked with a wide range of clients and companies delivering some of the most creative and advanced digital media work for both on-line and print. Working as a senior designer in various fields of marketing and advertising has given him an edge in applying new ideas and leadership in the creative industry.
Felice Forte
Felice Forte has spent more than thirty years working as a Graphic Designer, in both the print and web mediums. He has been teaching at Humber College since 2017, introducing students to the fun and engaging world of Web Design. Felice approaches teaching with a hands-in delivery method, understanding that the best way to learn to code is by coding.
Dylan Ravka
Neil van der King
With over twenty years in the film and television industry, Neil has developed a sharp eye for detail and a passion for visual narrative. From stop motion animator to visual effects artist to layout director and more, Neil’s range of experience has built a solid foundation for his passion for teaching.
Neil is proud to be a part of the post-secondary U.D.L. initiative. Universal Design for Learning prompts inclusive and engaged classrooms while accommodating learning differences. It has given Neil valuable insight into the diversity of his students and his approach to instructional design.
When he’s not contemplating the human condition, Neil busies himself with art in all its forms (especially painting, sculpting and photographing anything remotely odd).
Your Career
Our graduates are prepared to apply for junior and intermediate-level positions within the web and interactive field. Depending on how you choose to specialize and market yourself, a diverse range of positions including front-end development, backend development, web design, UI/UX design and many others are within reach. Our alumni use their skills to gain employment in interactive agencies, development studios and as in-house web professionals in a large variety of companies throughout the Greater Toronto Area and abroad. Opportunities also include freelance work.
