With a background in project management, I bring a unique perspective to my work, ensuring a balance between creativity and practicality in every project I undertake.

Project Overview

Community Art Center tailored specifically for students. Nestled within the vibrant Trinity Bellwood neighborhood, this project seeks to cultivate an environment that ignites creativity and imagination. Drawing inspiration from biophilic and human-centric design principles, the aim is to craft a space that not only nurtures artistic expression but also fosters a deep connection with nature and community.

Concept/Design Process

Incorporating clay as a transformative element, the design transcends materiality to create a deep synergy between nature, architectural form, and human well-being, specifically tailored to resonate with students creative processes.

Guided by biophilic principles, the spaces harmonize with our natural connection to the environment, fostering a nurturing atmosphere that encourages artistic expression and enhances the overall human experience.

Site Plan/Floor Plan(s)

The floorplan of the community art center embodies the concept of 'clay' through organic variations in its walls, ceilings, and floors, creating a dynamic and fluid spatial experience.

While designed primarily for students, the center also offers rentable spaces such as conference rooms and amenities like a pool, gym, and communal kitchen, catering to the wider community. The second level, dedicated to students, features a focal library and study/collaboration area surrounded by studios, classrooms, co-working spaces, and quiet areas, fostering a diverse and inclusive environment for artistic and educational pursuits.
