Project Overview

Drawing inspiration from Trinity Bellwoods Park's ability to create meaningful connections, The Trinity Hotel focuses on the notion of encounters to symbolize the harmonious coexistence between local residents and visitors. It represents the dynamic interplay of diverse individuals coming together within a space designed to facilitate connections and mutual learning. From the central lobby's Crystal map and black arches mirroring the park's iron gates to the serene ambiance of the Stone Garden Lounge and Restaurant, every aspect of the project is crafted to evoke a sense of community and belonging. Through thoughtful design and immersive experiences, the Trinity Hotel offers not just a place to stay but a vibrant hub where guests can forge lasting connections, share stories, and create cherished memories amidst the backdrop of nature's beauty.

Concept/Design Process

The parti takes inspiration from the pathways within Trinity Bellwoods Park. These pathways not only represent the physical structure of the community but also symbolize the interactions that shape it. The concept is explored through various ways, including the arrangement of trees within the park and the organic curves of the pathways.

The approach of utilizing the paths found in the local surroundings further emphasizes the integration of the local identity into the design. The lighting installation mirrors the pathways connecting Trinity Bellwoods Park and the hotel site at 21 Ossington. The intertwined paths symbolize the intersections of people's journeys, akin to the connections cultivated within the hotel's design. Each dot on the sculpture signifies individuals and their unique paths, essentially forming a map of connections.

The lobby boasts the Crystal map and black arches which mirror the Trinity Bellwoods gates. These elements are complemented by a natural palette, highlighting the stone reception area, which stands out against the soft wood accents and organic furniture. The suites epitomize luxury and relaxation, seamlessly blending natural materials with state-of-the-art technology.

Guests can personalize their experience by adjusting lighting levels to their liking, all while enjoying versatile spaces designed for work, leisure, or rejuvenation. The Stone Garden Lounge and Restaurant recreates the ambiance of the park through meticulous attention to detail in its design. Featuring a 'stone-filled' lounge area and lush greenery, guests are transported to the tranquility of a summer day in the park. Wooden furnishings and earthy textures further enhance this sensation, while the gentle sway of the ceiling mimics the wind, adding a subtle touch of realism.
