This project is a digital resource file containing essential digital interior design resources to support the 1st and 2nd year design students of Humber College. The creation of this project resulted in a large Google Drive folder that can be easily accessible amongst students using a user-friendly format of organized folders for the variety of categories that we provide. We have compiled resources that we have come across during the 4 years of our interior design experience from ourselves and peers. We have also compiled additional reliable researched resources.
Our project connects to the lack of digital design resources provided during the first and second years of the interior design program, and the struggles we had experienced of finding them. Some resources included are links to specific tutorials, websites to find material textures or 3D objects for rendering softwares, lists of manufacturers/suppliers for a variety of building materials and FF&E, useful design textbooks, and more. Our idea will support future design students to help them learn how to find these resources easily and efficiently, and allows the student to save a copy of this folder to build upon it, customize it, and make it their own as they navigate their program.
This poster showcases the timeline of this project, our team roles, milestones, and documentation of our process including a survey, advertising, presenting a walkthrough of the folders to students, and the resource folders and sheets.
