Humber Journalism programs specialize in data-driven and investigative storytelling for the digital age. Emerging technologies have changed the way we share and consume information. Leveraging multimedia technologies and hands-on learning in our campus newsrooms and broadcast centres, our students learn how to access information, analyze data, and write clear, compelling stories that matter to the public. Students apply their learning writing stories for several digital publications and can access opportunities through StoryLab, our collaborative centre working at the forefront of journalism and data science.

According to the results of Brainstorm Strategy Group’s 2023 survey of employers, communication skills are the most sought-after abilities in student job candidates. In addition to media literacy and technical skills, Humber Journalism students develop strong researching, writing, speaking, listening, and relationship-building skills that are transferrable to many industries and job opportunities.
