Humber Comedy grad poised for television success
Humber Comedy Writing and Performance graduates frequently find success on stage and screen, but they also make names for themselves behind the scenes as writers, agents, and producers.
Brandon Mohammed - a 2012 graduate of the program and a prior Tim Sims Encouragement Award nominee - is especially ready for this kind of creative success. He has just been accepted into the final year of the Bell Media Diverse Screenwriters Program.
A prestigious television industry mentorship opportunity, the Diverse Screenwriters Program runs in partnership between Bell Media and the Writers Guild of Canada. It lets emerging and mid-career writers of all backgrounds build on their skills with guidance from industry professionals including showrunners and executives.
After a one-week boot camp in January, Brandon and his fellow screenwriters will work with Writers Guild story editors during a 12-week mentorship program. At the end, one lucky participant will be offered a writing internship on a Bell Media television series. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it’ll be Brandon!
