Applications are now being accepted for Humber's 2016 Summer Jazz Workshop!
All high school and post-secondary undergrad students are invited to apply for this world-class workshop - the deadline to be considered for the first round as well as any scholarships is March 15, 2016. Applications submitted after this date will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Up to 50 students from across Canada, the USA and around the world will be accepted into the two-week program, gaining access to high quality jazz instruction and the opportunity to perform and record with other students and professionals who share their interest and passion for the music. This year's artists-in-residence are New York’s Adam Nussbaum and Toronto’s Pat LaBarbera.
Successful applicants attend daily classes and rehearsals that included combo rehearsals, master classes, workshops, improvisation clinics, listening sessions and professional concerts. At the end of the first week of the workshop, all combos will perform a Gala Concert at the Jazz Bistro and record in Humber’s state-of-the-art recording studio. Each student will receive an mp3 copy of their combo’s studio session.
