Bahareh Yaraghi

Bahareh Yaraghi graduated from Humber in 2010 and has been working hard ever since. We asked her what she's working on now, what else she's done since leaving Humber and how Humber helped her get there.

NOW
Right now I'm working on The Death of the King. As an Iranian-Canadian actor, it’s an honour to be working on a piece by one of Iran’s greatest playwrights, Bahram Beyzaei. So that alone is a privilege. Also, I’m working with one of the most brilliant Theatre directors in our country, Soheil Parsa. So I couldn’t feel more lucky!

THEN
Since graduating, I’ve been mostly working. Here is my bio:

Bahareh is a Toronto-based performer. She is a four time *Dora Mavor Moore Award nominee and a resident artist with ARC (Actors Repertory Company). She has also been featured as part of the top 10 "Artists to Watch" in NOW Magazine. Bahareh is a graduate of Humber Theatre School and holds a BA from McGill University.
Theatre credits: *Blood Wedding (Modern Times/Aluna Theatre), HER2 (Nightwood), *Moment (ARC), *Minotaur (YPT), The Kite Runner (Theatre Calgary/Citadel Theatre), Bea (ARC), Les Zinspirés2.0 (Théâtre Français de Toronto), Hallaj (Modern Times), Prisoner of Tehran (Theatre Passe-Muraille/Contrary Company), Homeland (Vancouver Fringe), Romeo & Juliet, A Midsummer Night's Dream (SIA).
Upcoming: Le Placard (Théâtre Français de Toronto), The Aeneid (Stratford Shakespeare Festival), Pomona (ARC), and Unholy (Nightwood).

HUMBER
Humber allowed me to figure out who I was as an artist – to hone my own voice – to know my strengths, and my weaknesses. Humber introduced me to collective creation and physical theatre – which I use in a lot of my work today.
