"My time at Humber College is one the best of my life! I attribute my success so far directly to the time I spent there. The faculty, led by Diana Belshaw, constructed a program that is rigorous, tasking and artistically relevant. I was exposed to some of the most brilliant artists in the country such as Dean Gilmour, Heidi Strauss and Ed Roy, to name a few. There was also an overwhelming sense of belonging to a family which, though not necessary to fostering great artistry, serves to set the Humber program apart from any other of its kind in the country."

Dienye Waboso was born in London, Ontario, but spent the next 16 years in Nigeria, West Africa. When she returned to Canada, she graduated from the renowned Theatre Performance program at Humber where she starred in roles such as Audrey in Shakespeare’s As You Like It and as Irina in Chekhov’s Three Sisters. Since then, Dienye has played roles such as Puck in Shakespeare-in-Action’s adaptation of A Midsummer Nights Dream, Memory in Theatre Direct’s Binti’s Journey, Gigi in New Harlem’s production, Gas Girls and, most recently, Beka in Volcano Theatre’s Africa Trilogy Shine your Eye at Luminato in June 2010. She can be seen next at the Summerworks Festival in a new play by Jordan Hall, directed by Tommy Taylor, and featuring Rosemary Dunsmore and Daniel Briere.
