Book Summit 2014 exposes what readers really want

Print books, ebooks, cell phone serials, subscriptions. When it comes to delivery methods, contemporary readers are spoiled for choice, and there are just as many options when it comes to content itself.

But with so many fish in the sea, are booklovers finding the right reads? Are they feeling fulfilled or frustrated?

On June 19, Book Summit 2014, “In Bed with the Reader: Marketing Uncovered,” delves into the deepest desires of Canadian readers. With actionable takeaways from industry leaders, the conference shows publishers how to keep everyone satisfied.

The day-long conference features broad-based programming and internationally recognized speakers from the publishing, media, and marketing industries, including Sara Critchfield, editorial director of Upworthy, “the fastest-growing media company of all time.”

The summit, held at Toronto’s scenic Harbourfront Centre (click here for a map), will run from 8:15 to 5pm on Thursday, June 19th and is presented by Humber College and the Book and Periodical Council in association with the International Festival of Authors.

Register online until Monday, June 16th or at the door on Thursday, June 19th. Prices are $166.25 or $92.75 for students. Group rates for 5 or more people from an organization are available by contacting the Book and Periodical Council at publicity@theBPC.ca.
