For this Music and Masterclass noon-hour event, JUNO-nominated singer, trumpet-player and songwriter, Tara Kannangara will treat audiences to a preview of her latest, unreleased music, and breakdown the songwriting process. Along with jazz keyboardist Chris Pruden, the duo will offer insights and their experience of the Canadian music industry and offer guidance on navigating both the creative and the business side of a career as a professional musician. Geared for music students, this masterclass is open to all who are curious about the songwriting process.

This concert showcases the exciting sizzle of The Humber Jazz Big Band and the virtuosity of the Bebop Ensemble. General Admission PWYC
Humber Music Presents JAZZ NIGHT! to kick off the first of this season's Student Showcase Concerts series. From the fast-paced virtuosity of the Bebop Ensemble to the thrilling and fulsome sound of the 18-piece Big Band, audiences will be treated to an exciting program of bebop from the 1930’s and ‘40’s era of Jazz, followed by Big Band classics from Count Basie to Ella Fitzgerald to modern Canadian works in jazz and beyond.
