Bonggun Kim

Bonggun Kim is a Toronto-based Korean entertainer and a 2019 grad of Humber’s Comedy Writing & Performance program. On his website, it says he’s been doing stand-up comedy “to bring happiness to people and to make them stick together. His jokes are universal, multi-cultural, and common daily things that you can enjoy regardless of ethnicity. He never stops moving, and his audiences always expect huge amounts of fun, inventiveness, and freshness from him.”

We caught up with Bonggun to do a short Q&A.

What is your current job title?

Stand Up Comedian and Actor.

How did your time at Humber help you get where you are now?

I met amazing friends through the program that I work together with even now. Also, in those two years, I had lots of opportunities to perform, like at Yuk Yuk’s and Comedy Bar, which improved my skills a lot!

Give us a tip (or tips) for students and recent grads hoping to follow in your footsteps.

The most important thing for me and everyone is to know that hard work really pays off. Sitting down on a chair and thinking too much doesn’t bring you anywhere.
