Cody is a writer and literary agent based in Toronto. He represents award-winning and bestselling authors of literary fiction and nonfiction. Cody joined CookeMcDermid in 2022 after starting his career at Transatlantic Agency. He holds an MA in English in the field of Creative Writing and a BA in English and Professional Writing & Communication from the University of Toronto.
Since 2018, Cody has contributed to the literary community through talks, workshops, and programming. He has judged major literary contests, served as a Writer in Residence for the Whistler Writers Festival, and is on the board of directors for the Toronto International Festival of Authors. He has also participated in several Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity residencies.
Cody is Anishinaabe, Portuguese, and an off-reserve member of Pinaymootang First Nation. His memoir, Half-Bads in White Regalia, debuted as a national bestseller, won two Indigenous Voices Awards, and was longlisted for Canada Reads, the Toronto Book Award, the Leacock Medal for Humour, and the Edna Staebler Award.
