Dianne Warren


Dianne Warren is a fiction writer from western Canada. She is the author of six books of fiction, including the novel Cool Water, which won the Governor General’s Award for Fiction in 2010. Her most recent novel, The Diamond House, was released by HarperCollins Canada in 2020. She is also the author of several plays, one of which was short-listed for the Governor General’s Award for Drama. She has won the Marian Engel Award from the Writers’ Trust of Canada, the Saskatchewan Book of the Year Award, National and Western Magazine Awards for Fiction, and the Cheryl and Henry Kloppenburg Award for Literary Excellence. In a review of her 2015 novel Liberty Street, the New York Times called her prose crisp, evocative and controlled, and said the novel’s "ruminative exploration of a fragile, often toxic relationship is handled so skillfully it feels entirely fresh.” She is at work on a new novel.
