Donna Morrissey has published six award-winning and nationally best-selling novels through Penguin Canada. She has received awards in Canada, the U.S. and England and her novel, Sylvanus Now was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Prize.
Her fiction has been translated into six different languages. She was nominated for a Gemini for her script, The Clothesline Patch (which won a Gemini for best production).
Her latest novel, The Fortunate Brother, spent six weeks on the national best-seller list, and won the Arthur Ellis Award for best crime novel of 2017.
Her short fiction has been published in The Walrus, Canadian Geographic, and The Globe and Mail. Her bestselling memoir, Pluck, was released in May 2021 with Penguin. Her new novel, The Unclaimed, is scheduled for release with Penguin in September 2022. She teaches part-time at Dalhousie and is currently working on a second memoir, Our Father Who Art Not!
