Donna Morrissey


Donna Morrissey has published eight award-winning and nationally bestselling novels through Penguin Canada. She has received awards in Canada, the U.S. and England, and her novel Sylvanus Now was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Prize.

Her fiction has been translated into six different languages. She was nominated for a Gemini for her script The Clothesline Patch, which won a Gemini for best production.

Morrissey’s novel The Fortunate Brother spent six weeks on the national bestseller list and won the Arthur Ellis Award for best crime novel of 2017.

Her short fiction has been published in The Walrus, Canadian Geographic, and The Globe and Mail. Her bestselling memoir, Pluck, was released in May 2021 with Penguin.

Rage The Night, a work of historical fiction, was a recent bestseller, and Morrissey is currently finishing off her second memoir, Consequences.
