Sidura Ludwig


Sidura Ludwig is an award-winning author of books for adults and children. Her short-story collection You Are Not What We Expected (House of Anansi, 2020) won the Vine Literary Award for Fiction and was shortlisted for the Danuta Gleed Award. Her novel Holding My Breath (Porter Books, 2007) was shortlisted for the Winnipeg Book Award. She has two books for kids releasing in 2024: her debut picture book, Rising (Candlewick Press), in the spring; her debut middle grade novel Swan (Nimbus Publishing) in the fall.

Sidura has worked as a radio journalist for CBC, a communications specialist in the UK and a copywriter for not-for-profit organizations. She holds a Master of Journalism from Carleton University, as well as a Master of Fine Arts from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. She has taught creative writing workshops, both online and in person, for over 30 years.

Originally from Winnipeg, MB, Sidura has lived in Toronto, Ottawa and Birmingham, UK. She currently lives in Thornhill, ON with her husband, three children and a geriatric Havanese dog.
